The MCPS Parent Academy is holding a workshop on Supporting LGBTQ Youth from 7–8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Takoma Park Middle School.

At this workshop, attendees will learn what kids mean when they talk about GSA clubs, nonbinary, they/them pronouns, and gender marker X. Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss best practices for connecting with LGBTQ youth. There will also be time for questions and answers. This workshop will be presented by Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders (SMYAL), and is recommended for families of students of all ages.
