Our Words, Our Power – Activist Writing for Teens (Boston Public Library) – VIRTUAL

December 10 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Description

Marching and protesting are powerful and necessary ways to promote change, and writing has also been a force for change for centuries across the globe. Learn how to shape your outrage through writing that uncovers, explores, calls out, and spotlights issues that you want to advance in this world to make it better in this workshop with author Maria Pinto.

Presented by the Roxbury, Mattapan, and Grove Hall branches in partnership with Grub Street Center for Creative Writing. This event will take place on Zoom. Registrants will be emailed an invite on the day of the event.

GrubStreet is one of the nation’s leading creative writing centers. We believe that narrative transforms lives, builds bridges, and produces empathy. By rigorously developing voices of every type and talent and by removing barriers to entry, GrubStreet fosters the creation of meaningful stories and ensures that excellent writing remains vital and relevant.
