American University is honored to welcome Ijeoma Oluo, one of our nation’s preeminent voices on feminism and social justice.

About this Event

The Office of Undergraduate Education and Academic Student Services, in partnership with the Antiracist Research & Policy Center and the School of International Service, is thrilled to welcome Ijeoma Oluo to American University for a community discussion from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020.

Ms. Oluo is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, So You Want to Talk About Race and the forthcoming Mediocre: The Dangerous Legacy of White Male America. Her work on race has been featured in the New York Times and the Washington Post, among many others. She has twice been named to the Root 100, and she received the 2018 Feminist Humanist Award and the 2020 Harvard Humanist of the Year Award from the American Humanist Association.

Ms. Oluo will be joined by Christine Platt, Managing Director of American University’s Antiracist Research & Policy Center for a conversation on race, social justice, and the changing landscape of our country.
